CVS Shopping Trip 2/27/2010

On Saturday I stopped at CVS to get some Benadryl for my daughter.  She had a very strange case of hives on Friday and the doctor said that she was ok but must have been exposed to something that she was allergic to.  We just can’t figure out what it could be.   The hives didn’t last long.  She wasn’t bothered by them either.

While I was at my favorite CVS, which I might add is very small, I decided to look at some of the other deals.  In my email I got a $5/$30  coupon and thought this would be a perfect time to use it.

Tide 100 oz was on sale for $10.99 – Get $2 ECBs

Tide Stain Release $4.49

Used the Buy a Tide get a Tide Stain Release for FREE coupon P&G 2/7 = Tide Stain Release $4.49 = FREE after coupon

Scott 6 big rolls $4.99

Used $1.00 off Scott Paper Towels, any one 6-pack + – All You, March 2010  = $3.99 after coupon

Almay mascara with eyeliner $5.99 – Get $3 ECBs

Didn’t have a coupon but still not a bad deal

Powerbar Energy Gels $1.50 – Get $1.50 ECBS

Used the $5/$30

Used ECBS $16.98

OOP $5.59

Got back $6.50 ECBs for next time!

The Cost of Diapers 2010 – February Update

After adding in my diaper purchases for January and February here is what I’ve spent so far on diapers this year.

I will be getting additional rebates for the Rite Aid Pampers and will subtract that when I get it.

This last week I got my rebate check from Caregivers Market Place- $12.50!   Not bad for saving my receipts for Huggies diapers and a few other products then at the end of the year I filled out the rebate form.   I will add that $12.50 back into the cost of diapers for this year, since I didn’t include that in my calculations last year.  Note:  This year 2010 Caregivers doesn’t offer the same rebates as in 2009.

Date Location Brand Size Number of Diapers/Training pants Regular Price Cost Cost per Diaper

CVS Shopping Deals – Check your Email and Mailbox

Check your email because you might have a $5/$30 coupon that expires tomorrow 2/3/10!  I just saw mine today!  I missed out using the one that expired on Sunday. If you are looking for some deals here are some suggestions.

Huggies Pull-Ups 2/$20   used 2 coupons $2 coupons SS 1/17

2 Dove Men’s Bodywash $5.49  used 2 coupons  $1.25 RP 1/31

Viologie shampoo $2.50 used CVS coupon I got from the Red machine $2 off any full size Viologie haircare product.  Note, the coupon did beep at the cashier but she pushed it through.

Used the $5/$30

Used my $12 ECBs from buying SoyJoy Bars a week ago!

Out of Pocket $9.30

ECBs got back $1 for using the Green Tag 4 times, $10.98 for the Dove Men’s Bodywash and $5 for the Huggies = $16.98

Thinking about the cost I’ll make this easy and consider the $12 ECBs as a coupon so my cost is $9.30 OOP.   Otherwise, if I consider the new ECBs as cash then the cost is really less $4.32 = (9.30 OOP + 12 ECBs) – $16.98 ECBs earned

If you don’t need diapers I suggest checking out DealSeekingMom because she has some other suggestions like Ragu sauce, and PG products.

Check out your mailbox because my mother-in-law this last week got 2 great coupons – $25 gift card for a new or transfer prescription!

The Cost of Diapers 2010 – January Update

One of the reasons I started to get into couponing was because of the cost of diapers and wipes.  I would go to Walmart, Sam’s Club, Target, Babies R Us and compare the prices and figure which store would give me the best deal and then I discovered the ‘coupon‘.  Coupons as you may or may not already know hold the key to finding some great deals.  In the last year thanks to the CVS and Rite Aid I’ve lowered my cost to diapers to about $300 a year.

This is an estimate so this year I plan on costing out how much I spend on diapers and soon training pants. My little girl isn’t a little girl anymore.  She wears size 6 and is a “big” girl!  Size 6 diapers cost a lot more than the 1 and 2 sizes and are hard to find on sale.  In some cases, I get excited about some of the deals only to find out that they don’t carry size 5 or 6.  Today, we bought her “potty” and will slowly introduce her to it.  She is 18 months old going on 19 months and thinks the “potty” is really neat.  I hope that continues!

If you find a good diaper deal or training pant deal PLEASE let me know.  Thanks!

How much have I spent on diapers in 2010?

CVS Shopping Trip 12/28/2009

Cost = $22.24

Spent $27.98 ECBSOOP = $4.26, Earned $10 ECBs

I have a couple trips to the store that I haven’t had a chance to post just because of the   holidays.  Time sure does fly by!   I had over $20 worth of ECBs that I needed to spend that were to expire so I went to CVS and this is what I got.  I was hoping to make the deal a money maker or close to free as possible but they were out of the Complete Contact Solution $9.99 Get $9.99 ECB, so I came up with this scenario instead.   All of the items I can always use!  I realized before I  checked out that I didn’t need the Kleenex to get my total to $28 but I had to rush with the hubby and little one in tow.

3 Coke Classics for $.99 each = $2.97   Get $1 ECBs wyb 3

1 Diet Coke FREE (They still had a sign up that said if you buy 3 – 2 liter cokes you get 1 – Diet Coke FREE!  and they were fine honoring the old sign.)

2 Pantene Hairsprays = 2/$7   Get $2 ECBs wyb 2

Used 2/$3 any Pantene products P&G 12/27/09  = $2.00 after ECBS and coupons or $1.00 each

1 Gillette razor = $8.99 Get $4 ECBs

Used $4 off any Gillette razor P&G 11/09 (expires 12/31/09) = $0.99 after ECBS and coupons

1 Bounty Basic 6 pack = $5.88

Used $1.00 off Bounty 6 or higher P&G 12/27/09 = $4.88 after coupon

1 Ivory Soap 3 pk. = $.99

Used $1.00 off Ivory soap P&G 12/27/09 = FREE! after coupon

1 Efferdent Tab 120 count = $4.99 Get 3 ECBS

Used $.50 off Efferdent or other products RP (expires 12/31/09) = $1.49 after ECBS and coupons

4 Kleenex Tissues B1G1 Sale $2.39 x2 = $4.78

Used 4/$1.00 Kleenex Tissues = $3.78 or $.94 each

2 CVS brand Pretzels B1G1 50% off $.79 + $.39 = $1.18

Used CVS coupon $1 off 2 CVS pretzel or nut products  = $.18

1 Pine Candle Pack 50% off = $4.99

Used 27.98 ECBS!  and spent $4.26 OOP.  Got back $10 ECBS!

Cost = $22.24

It really depends on how you think about the cost.  Do you consider the ECBS as cash like I do or do you consider them as coupons – only when you spend them?

CVS Shopping Trips 11-21-09, and 11-28-09

cvs

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving.  I’m so thankful for my family, friends and my health.   Going into the Holiday season remember that you don’t have to do it all and take only one day at a time.

I made a couple stops at CVS this last week, but didn’t have a chance to post all of them until now.

I’m going to apologize that my pictures are blurry because I’m trying to take pictures with my new camera phone (more about that in a later post).  You have to be really really still.  Being a Mom to a toddler being “still” is difficult.
