After adding in my diaper purchases for January and February here is what I’ve spent so far on diapers this year.
I will be getting additional rebates for the Rite Aid Pampers and will subtract that when I get it.
This last week I got my rebate check from Caregivers Market Place- $12.50! Not bad for saving my receipts for Huggies diapers and a few other products then at the end of the year I filled out the rebate form. I will add that $12.50 back into the cost of diapers for this year, since I didn’t include that in my calculations last year. Note: This year 2010 Caregivers doesn’t offer the same rebates as in 2009.

My wonderful sister-in-law stopped at Dirt Cheap a couple weeks ago and she got me the best deal! Probably one of the best deals this year! She got me 480 for $85! That is $.17 a diaper! For size 6, I might add.

She also got me all of these wipes for $19.80!

So, what is Dirt Cheap? I never heard of it myself until she called me to ask if I would like diapers and wipes. It is a true rock bottom price store that gets truck loads of items and there are times you never know what they may have. Per my family, it isn’t recommend to go out of your way just to see this store so it is recommended if you happen to be in the Thurmont, MD area stop by, you never know what you might find!

One of the reasons I started to get into couponing was because of the cost of diapers and wipes. I would go to Walmart, Sam’s Club, Target, Babies R Us and compare the prices and figure which store would give me the best deal and then I discovered the ‘coupon‘. Coupons as you may or may not already know hold the key to finding some great deals. In the last year thanks to the CVS and Rite Aid I’ve lowered my cost to diapers to about $300 a year.
This is an estimate so this year I plan on costing out how much I spend on diapers and soon training pants. My little girl isn’t a little girl anymore. She wears size 6 and is a “big” girl! Size 6 diapers cost a lot more than the 1 and 2 sizes and are hard to find on sale. In some cases, I get excited about some of the deals only to find out that they don’t carry size 5 or 6. Today, we bought her “potty” and will slowly introduce her to it. She is 18 months old going on 19 months and thinks the “potty” is really neat. I hope that continues!
If you find a good diaper deal or training pant deal PLEASE let me know. Thanks!
How much have I spent on diapers in 2010?

I realized I had one of the “$5 Alice Gift Card for being a new user” that I received from my Swagbucks points a couple months ago and I thought what a perfect time to use it I need diapers badly and maybe I can find some good deals.
If you haven’t checked Alice.com please do so, it is a online store that provides you a better way to manage all of your household essentials online they include regular daily deals and automatic coupons too. You can create one time shopping trips or you can even create regular shopping schedules, as long as you have 6 items in your cart, you always pay FREE shipping!
This is what I got:
| Luvs Diapers, Size 6 |
1 |
$6.92 |
$6.92 |
| Lipton 100% Natural Tea |
1 |
$1.09 – $0.50 Off |

|
If I don’t use tax in my calculations then I paid $5.51 for diapers, $7.69 for 20 Forever stamps that equals $0.3845 each, and $0.35 on Alka-Seltzer, plus $.42 tax. Everything else was FREE! That’s pretty good! All of the items I will use!
I paid $14.20 for $20.78 worth of products = 32% savings (Which would be more if I calculate using retail pricing.)
Here is my calculation:
Total before savings $20.78 – total I paid $14.20 = amount saved $6.58 / total before savings $20.78 = percentage saved 32% savings
Is this is the best way to calculate my savings? You can read my previous post about calculating savings. I’m always open to new ideas!

Quick update! I did this deal and used the e-coupons on Shortcuts and safeway.com (coupons.com) and only bought 1 pack of overnights. It came out to $2.95! Look out for these coupons in the future.
I’m a newbie to shopping at Safeway. Now, I’m not sure how this works so this is a suggestion.
Today, I learned that Safeway has a coupon in their 11/15 insert for $7.99 Huggies or Pampers Jumbo pack diapers (without the coupon they are $9.99) and the limit is 4. It states on the coupon that you have to spend at least $20 to use “all” of the coupons on the page.
From what I’ve learned at Safeway you can load manufacture coupons on to your Safeway card PLUS you can use a paper manufacture coupon, and with the Safeway coupon this can be a great deal! This is called “stacking” coupons.
Frugal in Virginia mentions some Cell Fire coupons that you can load onto your Safeway card. There is a 2/$3 Huggies coupon available!
Plus, there are some $1, $2 and even $3 Huggies coupons (for specific types of Huggies so check the coupons).
My guess is if you can use the $3 Huggies Naturals and the Cell Fire coupon you can get 3 packs of Huggies for about $11.97 that is $3.99 a pack! Wow! Since I need size 6 diapers and usually Naturals only come in size 5, I would use the $1 or $2 coupons so that would make it $18.97 or $6.32 a pack. Still not bad!
Any thoughts or suggestions? I’m tempted to get some.

I’m running low on my stockpile of diapers. Big thanks to Rite Aid for the great diaper deals recently. I’ve either spent very little or earned a profit. I think so far I’ve spent under $300 for diapers this year alone. I’ll have to it add up. It might even be less than that since most of the time I get them at CVS or Rite Aid.
Rite Aid
This week Rite Aid has a great deal on diapers. If you are like me and immediately submitted for your GOS (Gift of Savings) promotion at Rite Aid you should have your $20 certificate. This week Rite Aid has Huggies for $9.99 and a $3 Rite Aid Rebate use a $1.50 or $1.00 coupon in Sunday paper (10/25) then it will be $5.49 or $5.99 for one pack. Go ahead and get a couple packs and use a $5/$25 or $5/$25 and get even more diapers!
Here is a suggestion:
Buy 3 Huggies Diapers for $9.99
3 -$1.00 Huggies coupon 10/25 SS
SubTotal = $26.97
-$5/$25
Total = $21.97
-$20 GOS certificate
OOP = $1.97
Get back $3 Rite Aid Rebate and 3 packs towards (buy 5 get 6 free coupon) and 3 packs towards $.75 per pack for caregivers rebates
I’m sure there will be other diaper deals in the future at Rite Aid since the GOS doesn’t expire until later but this one looks good right now.
Diapers.com
If you are like me and can’t get to Rite Aid this week or you don’t mind spending a little bit more on diapers. Here is another great deal. As long as you are a new customer to diapers.com this will work really well.
1. Place your order through Ebates to receive an extra 1% off. If you aren’t signed up for Ebates, you can do so here, and receive a $5 bonus just for signing up.
2. Search for diapers.com and add your items (any combination of $49+) to your cart. Check for coupons to check off! The subtotal is before coupons! Woohoo!
3. Proceed to check out. If you’re a new member, you’ll have to register.
4. Enter the coupon code Search10 to get $10 off.
5. If you originally added $49 or more to your cart (before the code), your order should qualify for free shipping.
6. Place your order, but remember to send away for your rebate!
7. Go here and print out the form to receive a rebate of $14.97 rather than a magazine subscription.
Here is what I did:
Huggies Snug and Dry Diapers Extra Large Case size: Size 5 $39.99 – $1.50 coupon = $38.49
Huggies Pure & Natural Diapers – Jumbo Pack size: Size 5 $9.99 – $3.00 coupon = $6.99
Item Subtotal $49.98
Free Shipping
Promotional Discount $10.00
(Promotion Search10)
Total: $35.48
After the Rebate $14.97
Total = $21.48 for over 100+ diapers
I also got premium shipping which means I should get it Wednesday!
Thanks to Frugal in Virginia for info about this!
